Mine iron in the pit north of Kindlewastes Ancient Spire, beside the cave entrance. To find iron in Enshrouded this way, glide from the spire onto the ledge with three holes, then drop into the one closest to the spire. Bring a pickaxe to mine the deposits inside.
Enshrouded Iron Ore Location: North of Kindlewastes Spire
The northern cave ledge has an iron pit you can reach directly from Kindlewastes Ancient Spire. Start at the spire and aim for the top of the ledge, rather than searching below it.

Find the northern cave ledge
Open your world map and locate the cave site north of the spire. This is the northern pit route; the cave southeast of the spire is a separate option.
Land on top beside the three holes
Glide onto the upper ledge. Look for three openings in the sandy rock before choosing where to drop.

Enter the hole closest to the spire
Choose the pit nearest the spire you just flew from, beside the cave entrance. Drop into that opening to reach the iron.

Mine the deposits inside
Use your pickaxe on the iron deposits. A player mining this northern pit found it free of Shroud, letting them work without a Shroud timer.

Watch how deep you dig. One player cleared enough iron here to leave a hole they could no longer jump out of. Keep an eye on your way back up as you work through the deposit.
Enshrouded Iron Ore Farming: Spire Pit or Cave Entrance
For a straightforward haul from the spire, start with the northern pit; for an entrance-only stop, choose the southeastern Cave Passage. The useful difference is how much of the site you need to explore.
| Spot | Route | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Northern pit | Glide onto the ledge and enter the closest hole | Iron in a pit where a player mined without Shroud; digging can leave a deep exit |
| Southeastern Cave Passage | Head southeast of the spire, south of the Oasis, near Hollow Halls and an Elixir Well | Entrance deposits let you stop without exploring deeper; expect Shroud at the mouth |
| Ridgeback Mine | Southwest of the spire | A larger collection option, with Shroud and a Fell Sicklescythe to contend with |
One player using a gold-plated pickaxe, with no mining or excavation skills, started with 3 iron and finished with 261 in their backpack at the northern pit. Treat 261 as that run's ending inventory, rather than a fixed yield for your trip.

At the southeastern cave, mine the entrance mound and leave when you have what you need. You can collect iron from the starting area without committing to the deeper passage.

Players have returned to the entrance cave to mine regrown deposits. Revisit it when the veins return. If you want to continue deeper into this passage, plan for Flame Level 6 and check your materials to upgrade the Flame first.
Enshrouded Iron Uses: Smelt Iron Bars and Steel Bars
Iron Ore goes into Iron Bars and Steel Bars for crafting. Take your haul back for smelting instead of treating the raw ore as a finished crafting bar.
Iron Bars can be produced at the Smelter or Blast Furnace; Steel Bars use the Blast Furnace. Keep fuel alongside your ore: the Smelter iron recipe uses Charcoal, while the Blast Furnace recipes use Coal. For your other gathering stops, keep the Enshrouded list of materials handy.
Iron Mining Changes: Stronger High-Tier Pickaxes
Higher-tier pickaxes gained damage, and several mining materials had their toughness reworked. These changes affect your choice of mining tool, while production changes also made many frequently used factory recipes more generous and reduced their production times.
The Kindlewastes also gained playable areas near the edge of the world. Keep the spire and cave ledge as your route landmarks when heading out for iron.
Once you have your iron, take it back to your smelting station and turn it into the bars you need.
