Get Shroud Adhesive by defeating Shroud Flayers in the Nomad Highlands. In Enshrouded, Shroud Adhesive also comes from harvesting Flayers grown from seedlings. For a straightforward wild collection route, head to the lower levels of Nomads Drop Trading Post and follow the stone path into the Shroud.
Where to Get Shroud Adhesive in Enshrouded
Look for Shroud Flayers in the Nomad Highlands, especially beneath Nomads Drop Trading Post or in the underground Shroud northwest of Umber Hollow. Your target is the Flayer itself, rather than an ore deposit or a crafting station.
| Area | Where to look | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Nomads Drop Trading Post | Lower levels, along the stone path into the Shroud | Multiple Flayers along a route you can follow |
| Northwest of Umber Hollow | Underground Shroud northwest of the Gem Forge that is itself northwest of Umber Hollow | Groups of Flayers, with Shroud Depthdwellers nearby |
At the trading post, the lower levels are the useful landmark. Searching only around the upper part of the outpost misses the stone path leading toward the Flayers. At Umber Hollow, keep both directions in mind: first locate the Gem Forge northwest of the hollow, then search farther northwest and below ground.

Flayers can lash out while you harvest them. The Umber Hollow area also contains Shroud Depthdwellers, so reaching a dense group of Flayers does not mean you have a clear harvesting spot.
How to Farm Shroud Adhesive: Trading Post Route and Seedlings
Start with the trading post's lower stone path for a simple collection run; grow seedlings when you want a supply at your base. The trading post gives you a recognizable approach to multiple targets, while the Umber Hollow alternative adds nearby Depthdwellers to the trip.
Enter the lower trading post
Go down through Nomads Drop Trading Post in the Nomad Highlands. Follow the stone path into the Shroud rather than continuing to search the outpost above.
Defeat Flayers and collect Adhesive
Work through the Flayers you encounter along the path. Watch for their lash attacks as you approach to harvest. Flayers return over time, making this a place you can revisit for another collection run.
Keep seedlings for home growing
Flayers can also give you Shroud Flayer Seedlings. Keep those if you want to move some of your Adhesive gathering to your base; you can also make seedlings at the Seedbed.
To craft a Shroud Flayer Seedling at the Seedbed, gather the following ingredients. Crafting takes 3:00 and produces 1 seedling.
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Acidic Mycelium | 1 |
| Shroud Adhesive | 1 |
| Shroud Infused Farm Soil | 1 |
Plant the seedling in Shroud Infused Farm Soil, let the Flayer mature, then harvest it for Adhesive. This is a growing loop: the Seedbed makes a seedling, and the grown Flayer supplies the material. Because the recipe itself consumes Adhesive, save some of your wild haul if you plan to craft seedlings instead of relying on seedling drops.
Choose Shroud Infused Farm Soil for planting. Growing advice dated July 22, 2025 describes that soil as the only option. The growing information present on October 16, 2026 also lists dirt, sand, Farm Soil, and Fertilised Farm Soil with growth times, alongside the same exclusive-soil instruction. These give different planting options; Shroud Infused Farm Soil is the common choice in both.
What Is Shroud Adhesive Used For?
Shroud Adhesive goes into the Extraordinary Glider and several armor pieces, so keep your next equipment recipe in mind before spending it on seedlings. The glider is crafted at the Carpenter; armor uses span several craftspeople.
| Equipment | Crafter |
|---|---|
| Extraordinary Glider | Carpenter |
| Blackguard Boots and Guardian Boots | Blacksmith |
| Herbalist Boots and Herbalist Tunic | Alchemist |
| Hunter Boots | Hunter |
If you are collecting for the glider, check its recipe before deciding how long to farm. Its Adhesive cost has been reduced, so an older shopping list can send you out for more than you need. For armor, choose the actual piece you intend to craft before committing the rest of your haul to growing.
Keep your equipment shopping list separate from your materials to upgrade Flame, and use the Enshrouded list of materials when you need to plan the other ingredients alongside Adhesive.
What Changed for Shroud Adhesive and Flayer Farming?
The October 14, 2026 update reduced the Adhesive needed for the glider and fixed how the Shroud Flayer's Heart reacts when attacked. Check the glider's crafting screen for the amount you need to bring.
Earlier changes also matter when fighting wild Flayers:
- June 5, 2025: Flayer Hearts received more reliable placement at the correct underground depth. Linked Flayers attack in waves, and defeating an individual linked Flayer triggers a shriek and visual effects at its Heart.
- June 5, 2025: Destroying a Heart kills the Flayers linked to it. If you are still collecting from those enemies, remember that attacking the Heart changes the whole encounter.
- November 10, 2025: Flayers planted on farmland stopped moving in sync. This change concerns their movement rather than a new harvesting recipe.
Once you have your Adhesive, put it toward your chosen glider or armor piece, or reserve some to craft your first seedlings.
